1.Management of Personal Information Subject to GDPR

We manage collected personal information and personal information of persons residing in the EU/EEA region*, received from the persons themselves, appropriately according to the General Data Protection Regulation of the European Union (“GDPR”).

*EU/EEA region refers to the European Union (EU) and its 27 member states and Iceland, Liechtenstein, and Norway.

Any changes in the purpose of use will be notified to the individual. If the consent of the individual is required for the change and the individual does not consent, we will use the personal information only within the scope of the consent of the individual.

2. Provision of Personal Information

To achieve the purpose of use stipulated above, we may provide personal information to subcontractors within the “scope of business” stipulated below. However, if the processing of personal information is outsourced to an external subcontractor, we will select and appropriately supervise a subcontractor that has been deemed capable of safely managing personal information according to our internal rules, including but not limited to this policy regarding the management of personal information subject to GDPR. 3. Transfer to a Third Country

We transfer the personal information of individuals from the EU/EEA region to Japan. The European Commission has decided that an adequate level of protection is provided in Japan and such personal information will be appropriately managed according to this policy.

Additionally, if personal information is transferred to a country outside the EU/EEA region other than Japan, it will in principle be carried out after the conclusion of a Standard Contractual Clause (SCC) according to the GDPR and the applicable laws and regulations of the EU/EEA member states, excluding when the personal information is transferred to a country for which the European Commission has decided that an adequate level of protection is provided. Upon request, protective measures taken according to the GDPR can be made available to individuals.

4. Personal Information of Individuals Under the Age of 16

We will not acquire or process information about children under the age of 16 without parental consent. If you are aware of any child under the age of 16 who has provided us with their personal information without parental consent, please contact us immediately.

5. Special Categories of Personal Information

We, in principle, do not acquire sensitive personal information (religion, health, allergies, etc.).
We may, however, acquire such information when it is essential and when the following rational reasons are clear:

To educate our executives and employees on the importance of personal information protection, related legal requirements, and management systems and regulations regarding the management of personal information and penalties should the regulations be violated, we will promote the appropriate management of personal information and compliance with laws and regulations by regularly providing them with training on personal information.

We will retain personal information only when it is necessary to fulfill the purposes described in Section 2 of this Policy or as required by applicable law.

  • 7) The right to withdraw consent to the processing of their personal information which they have given at any time (However, such withdrawal of consent shall not affect the lawfulness of the processing or transmission of personal information that took place early on.).
  • 8) The right to lodge a complaint against the competent supervisory authority or us about dissatisfaction with our processing of their personal information.
